This is my site, where I share projects and thoughts on digital marketing. It runs on Jekyll and GitHub Pages. Nothing too fancy. If you’re curious about the technical setup, there’s a project write-up about the site itself.

How the site came about

I’ve been interested in coding for a while. I have a minor in computer science from university, and the repository behind this site was originally created back in 2022 as a place to test things out and learn. In marketing, much of the work happens through technology.

In January 2025, I put together a basic HTML page with some CSS and JavaScript. It was a homepage and not much else.

With the introduction of AI coding tools, the threshold for actually writing code dropped significantly. That got me thinking about what I could build.

A year later, I rebuilt the site as a Jekyll project using Claude Code. The base infrastructure went in over a couple of days. Jekyll made sense because everything is Markdown files in a Git repository. No database, no CMS, no hosting costs beyond the domain.

Projects, blog posts, and other things I want to share. Projects cover things I’ve built; blog posts cover observations and experiences from marketing and technology.

How I work

In my work I’ve seen a pattern: teams throw martech at problems and expect it to work. Tools get added, subscriptions pile up, and the underlying process stays broken. I tend to start with the process and build technology around it.

I prefer open-source tools when they do the job. I’d rather set something up once than subscribe to a SaaS product that does most of what I need and charges monthly for the rest. That’s a preference, not a rule.

Design decisions are interesting to me: how content is organized, how a tool guides someone through a task. That kind of thinking tends to show up in the project write-ups.
